Validation
This site uses several CSS files, including one for formatting (layout) and one for style (color, font, etc).
"This [site] is not Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional!" Why? Because while following the W3C guidelines is a "best practice" idea, those guidelines hamper the use of many web-friendly components (embedded media, for example). Instead, we've opted to follow the W3C guidelines as close as possible and only overstep them when necessary. You may notice that of the validation errors generated, they generally only apply to two things: the Spry attributes (which are part of Adobe's Spry Framework) and anything to do with a media box (embedded media).

Web Design
In order to provide a useful, feature-complete, and organized website, we have opted to use Macromedia's (1) Dreamweaver program. With templates, link checking, an easy-to-navigate interface, and more, Dreamweaver has made the lives of this web team so much easier while ensuring we provide a uniform and functional website.
If you happen to have visited the photo gallery, you may have noticed some interesting effects. This is due primarily to use of Adobe's great Spry Framework, a Javascript-based utility for making web pages more interactive. We have implemented the Spry Framework to provide a user-friendly interface, and alongside it have chosen to use XML files to provide an easily updatable data source for photo information. Instead of adding <img> tags to each html page, they are dynamically added using Javascript (or on the NoScript page, PHP).
Other scripting, including the tabbed menu this paragraph is on, was derived from DynamicDrive.com, an amazing source of Javascript coding examples.
Many of the icons you see were produced by Mark James from FamFamFam.com under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License.
Thus many various resources have been used in this site's creation. It must be noted, however, that while these resources have been used as aid, it does not imply that this web team has no understanding in the realm of coding. Indeed, these resources form a base upon which modifications, improvements, and extensions are made (as in the creation of our PHP-based NoScript Photo Gallery). Knowledge and understanding of various coding specifications, including Javascript, PHP, XML, CSS, and HTML have all been necessary in creating what you see before your eyes.
Notes
(1) Macromedia has been acquired by Adobe Systems as of 2005
